Follow the steps below to get the longest vase life out of your beautiful bouquet!

Below the care guide, you will find a recipe for homemade flower food.

1. Place flowers in a clean container.

2. Cut about 1/2 an inch off the stems before placing in water.

3. Don't be afraid to fill the container up with water!

4. Strip any foliage that will sit below the water line.

5. Don't place flowers in direct sunlight or heat.

6. Don't place flowers near ripening fruit or vegetables, such as bananas or apples.

7. Refresh water often!

8. Re-cut the stems when you change the water.

9. Use flower food and preservative, homemade or prepackaged.

Homemade Flower Food Recipe

Some flowers simply do not like commercial flower food, such as zinnias and sunflowers. As an alternative, we found a simple homemade solution keeps them happy and fresh. You most likely have the ingredients floating around at home and it is simple to make! This is also great if you prefer not to use the commercial flower food provided.

You will need:

A quart of room temperature water

1 teaspoon of sugar

1/2 teaspoon of bleach

Simply add all the ingredients to the water. Remember, when dealing with bleach always add the bleach to the water, not water to the bleach. You will want to refresh water with new flower food solution every other day to two days to achieve maximum results.
